Who we are

Brookfield Garage is a trading name of Brookfield Automotive Limited, registered in England and Wales (company no. 15316881). Registered office: 23 Fox Meadow, Barking, Ipswich, IP6 8HS. Our workshop is at Watery Lane, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 3QB.

We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website and in the course of running the garage. You can contact us about anything in this policy on 01449 674874 or at enquiries@brookfieldgarage.ltd.

What we collect

  • Contact details — your name, phone number and email address when you enquire, book or become a customer.
  • Vehicle details — registration, make, model and service history relevant to the work you’ve asked us to do.
  • Booking and enquiry details — whatever you tell us in our booking form, by email or over the phone.
  • Billing records — invoices and payment records. We don’t store card numbers.
  • Technical data — basic server logs (IP address, pages requested) generated automatically when you visit this website.

How we use it, and why we’re allowed to

  • To respond to enquiries and carry out work you’ve booked — necessary to take steps at your request and to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep service and repair records and issue invoices — our legitimate interest in running the business properly, and our legal obligations (for example, tax records).
  • To send service or MOT reminders — only where you’ve asked for them, and you can opt out at any time.
  • To keep the website secure — our legitimate interest in preventing misuse.

We do not sell your information, and we don’t use it for third-party marketing.

Who we share it with

Only where needed to do the job: parts suppliers and warranty providers (for example, to register a parts warranty), our IT and website hosting providers, our professional advisers, and public authorities where the law requires it (for example, HMRC or the DVSA).

How long we keep it

Invoices and job records are kept for six years to meet tax and warranty obligations. General enquiries that don’t lead to work are kept no longer than reasonably necessary.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Contact us using the details above and we’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
